“A sensible man will remember that the eyes may be confused in two ways – by a change from light to darkness or from darkness to light; and he will recognize that the same thing happens to the soul.”
SouLit comes into play just as love, heartache, fun, triumph, and a lituation. Everything the Soul may encounter on a day to day basis. The meaning of the title Soulit has many meanings.
Sou – is an old historical french word defining a coin of low value(Less than a penny).
Lit – is a present day word defining a good time, good vibes, aka The Turn Up.
Together these two words makeup SouLit.
That’s not all of whats behind the title; as well as the sounds of the tape.
As Philosopher Plato describes in quote above; The Title as well as the music on SouLit, indicates no matter from Light to Dark times or vice versa, you can always see there’s another side.
Sonically starting with songs like “Old Me”, Alpha gives a story of his past, just a piece of the puzzle of what this project as a whole defines, Standpoints of where he’s been and who’s he aspires to become. As SouLit progresses on, songs like the outro “Pray I Neva Lose” goes on to tell complaints and wishes of exactly what Plato exerts with his quote; even though they think he’s losing it, he wont; as a matter of fact, he’s on to bigger and on the trip to the light, he prays the dark doesn’t haunt him with its common merry-go-round like effect.
– No matter the situation, keep the Soul Lit.
